Xstrata Haul Road Diversion – A Successful Soil Solutions Project
Xstrata Coal in Witbank, South Africa, engaged Soil Solutions to construct a Mine Haul Road Diversion to temporarily reroute their haul trucks. Our local South African agent, Soil & Dust Solutions, provided on-site technical expertise and support, ensuring a durable and efficient road solution.
A materials investigation was conducted on-site, identifying a stockpiled material that, when combined with our EBS Stabilizer, met the required CBR and specification standards. The material was then placed, shaped, compacted, and graded to the proper line and levels, creating a stable base. Finally, an EBS Surface Seal was applied, resulting in a fully protected, dust-free, and erosion-resistant wearing course.
